UNIMED resumption date for returning students, 2021/2022

This is to inform all returning students that the resumption of academic activities for the 2021 / 2022 Academic Session will be on 13th December, 2021 online.

Students are expected to complete their registration within the stipulated 2 weeks of resumption, while 1 week will be given for late registration.

UNIMED offers free training to Ukrainian returnee medical students

The management of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Ondo State, has offered to train Nigerian medical students who recently returned from Ukraine to the country due to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.

The college&-8217;s Chief Medical Director, Dr. Oluwole Ige, in a statement, said the continuous medical training was being offered to the interested students on a free of charge basis.

The statement read,

“The CMD advised them to maximise the opportunities for learning at UNIMED Teaching Hospital in Ondo State while it lasts. He assured that UNIMED Teaching Hospital is set to meet their training aspirations and clinical exposure during the period.

“Dr Ige explained that the students across the country and other African nations have been accessing qualitative medical and clinical training at the institution.

“The Chief Medical Director also advised the interested students to visit the office of the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee at The Medical Village, Laje Road Ondo, for further details on the processes for registration.”

UNIMED Postgraduate Admission, 2021/2022

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for admission into the Postgraduate (Diploma and Degree) Programmes of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo in the 2021/2022 Academic Session.

UNIMED Pre-degree admission for 2021/2022 session

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo Pre-Degree Programme . The programme shall run for One (1) academic session beginning from December, 2021 to August, 2022. It is an intensive programme to prepare Candidates for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)/Post-UTME and towards admission into 100 level degree programme of UNIMED and other Universities of their choice.

2.0 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
a. Candidates must have credit passes in at least five (5) Subjects (i. e. Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at SSCE/GCE/ NECO at NOT more than two (2) sittings; with only one (1) sitting required for Medicine and Dentistry.

b. Candidates who meet the admission requirements will be admitted into the Pre-degree programme

The subjects to be offered are:
1. Mathematics
2. English Language
3. Physics
4. Chemistry
5. Biology

3.0 QUALIFICATION FOR 100 LEVEL ADMISSION INTO UNIMED
Candidates are expected to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and also obtain the minimum cut-off mark for the University admission as well as comply with our Post-UTME as may be required. In addition, all candidates are expected to pass the first and second semesters examinations with good grades. This we believe will also enhance their performance in the UTME and Post-UTME.

Successful candidates are eligible to be allocated to the 100 Level Courses of related Faculties/Departments of Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Herbal Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences and Mathematics Sciences.

METHOD OF APPLICATION:
ONLINE PAYMENT

Eligible candidates should log on to the University website www.unimed.edu.ng. Then the following steps:
i. Click on Students;
ii. Click on PRE-DEGREE to access the Pre-Degree Portal;
iii. Click on Payment via online payment system using VISA or MASTER Card. Note that VERVE Card is NOT allowed. Duly follow the instructions to make payment of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15,000) only.
iv. On successful payment, the candidate should note the Number on the Application Form and Print Payment Receipt;
v. On PRE-DEGREE PORTAL, Click on APPLICATION FORM/LOG IN with the generated PRE-DEFREE Application Form Number and Payment Transaction ID to access/complete the application form

5.0 CLOSING DATE:
The application will close Six (6) weeks from the date of this publication.

UNIMED application for Inter-University transfer (local and International Students)

Inter-University Transfer for Local & International Students. Inter-University Transfer is a process by which a candidate can transfer his/her studies from one University to the other.

Eligibility:

Any candidate who has spent at least a year (two (2) semesters) in an institution (Stalites) with a minimum of 3.50 CGPA can transfer his/her admission from one institution to another, and it can either be Local or International.

Please note that Applicants would be required to attach photocopies of O’ Level Results (WAEC, NECO, GCE or its equivalent) / Official Academic Transcript/JAMB Result/JAMB online Admission Letter/Previous Institution Admission Letter/Birth Certificate and Receipt of purchase to the form before submitting in a sealed and well-labeled envelope to the Office of the Registrar, University of Medical Sciences, Ondo.

Applicants within Nigeria are to request a copy of their Academic Transcripts, which must be forwarded to the Registrar, University of Medical Sciences, Ondo before the University can consider their application.

Applicants from outside Nigeria would be required to write an online competence /evaluation test which would be conducted by the University, in place of their academic transcripts (if not available).
