TASUED student emerges as NANS president, pledges prompt bursary payment

Comrade Damilola Simeon, a student of Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu-Ijebu in Ogun, has emerged as the Ogun state president of the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), on Saturday, 30 January 2021.

The newly-elected president fondly called Daosmos, emerged the winner of the NANS presidential race after securing 9 votes from the total votes of 10 accredited senators from the 10 higher institutions present at the election ground, held at the Alake Sports Centre, Ijeja in Abeokuta.

The election was conducted with the presence of heavy security, and Damilola was elected unopposed following the withdrawal of six candidates from the race.

During his acceptance speech, the president appreciated students of the state for their full support, believing in him, and promised not to fail them. He pledged to work with the state government to ensure the speedy payment of bursary to indigent students.

Screening exercise shall be conducted for all UTME/DE candidates at the Main Campus of the University on Monday, 7th December 2020, in strict adherence to CONVID-19 protocols/guidelines. Therefore no candidate will be allowed to the screening venue without face mask.

Candidates’ participation in the screening exercise is a mandatory requirement for admission into Tai Solarin University of Education.

SCREENING DETAILS
Candidates should prepare for the screening exercise and bring along the following:
Colour print-out of the online Screening Form
Original JAMB Examination Notification of Result slip or Direct Entry Registration Slip.
Screening Slip and Receipt.

WARNING:
(i) Cell phones (GSM, CDMA, etc.) and other electronic devices are not allowed at the venue of the screening exercise
(ii) Candidates are to arrive at the screening venue an hour before the commencement of the exercise.

The results of the screening exercise should be checked on the Admission portal twenty-four hours (24 hrs.) after the screening exercise.

TASUED Student on the run after Allegedly Stabbing his Girlfriend (Graphic)

A 200-level student of Tai-Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ogun State, was rushed to the hospital by neighbors after being stabbed and left to bleed to death. She was allegedly stabbed by her boyfriend Daniel Johnson, a 400-level student of the same institution who is currently on the run after the incident.

According to online sources, the victim, simply identified as Bukky has been in a toxic on-and-off relationship with the suspect, and her father, who is a lecturer in the same school, was aware.

On Sunday, October 11, Bukky was allegedly invited by Johnson to settle their differences. She went to his house in Abapawa, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, and he beat her up and stabbed her, leaving her for dead. Afraid he had killed her, Johnson ran off. Bukky reportedly managed to jump the compound fence and was then spotted by neighbors who rushed her to the hospital.

She was rushed to the hospital and is currently being treated. Meanwhile, Daniel Johnson who is also a model has deactivated his Instagram account and is still at large.

TASUED 2nd batch Post-UTME/DE Form, cut-off mark, eligibility, screening date, application fee and deadline for 2020/2021 academic session has been announced. The cut-off mark is 180. See eligibility and full details below;

This is to inform the general public that the POST-UTME screening exercise of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) for the 2020/2021 session will take place as indicated below:

TASUED 2nd Batch Post-UTME 2020: Cut-off Mark, Date, Eligibility and Registration Details

ELIGIBILITY

i. UTME Candidates who chose TASUED as first/second choice institution or seeking a change of institution to TASUED through JAMB, having scored a minimum of 180 in the 2020 UTME.

ii. Direct Entry candidates with A level/OND/HND/NCE/JUPEB qualification who chose TASUED as first/second choice institution or seeking a change of institution to TASUED through JAMB and have obtained 2020 Direct Entry JAMB form.

2. APPLICATION PROCEDURE

i. Candidates should apply online through the TASUED Admission portal on https://my.tasued.edu.ng/admission

NB: The www.tasued.edu.ng is the ONLY legitimate and authentic website of TASUED through which the Admission portal can be accessed.

ii. Each candidate is required to make the payment of N2000 for the screening exercise payable online with either Master card or VISA ATM card.

(Please print out your receipt after payment)

iii. Candidates are required to fill and complete the online Application Form by providing all the required information. It is MANDATORY for all applicants to use the University Online Result Verification System (ORVS) to submit and verify their O-level result.

(Please download and read the University Degree Brochure and carefully study the O-Level requirements for the courses applied for, before filling the online Application Form)

iv. Print the Screening Slip containing your colour passport photograph and screening information. The printed slip will serve as candidates&-8217; identification/admission card for the screening exercise.

Note that wrong/false information provided by any candidate shall render the application invalid and such candidates shall be disqualified.

3. SCREENING DATES

Screening exercise shall be conducted for all UTME candidates at the Main Campus of the University  subject to Federal and Ogun State Governments’ directives on COVID – 19.

Modalities for the screening exercise with the dates’ and time’s schedule shall be communicated to candidates
