Federal College of Education Akoka announces resumption date

Further to the resolution of the Academic Board meeting on Tuesday 20th October 2020 that the college should resume for full academic activities following its closure due to COVID-19 crisis and with due appraisal of all other Variables on resumption the management directed as follows;

That all NCE,PDE, and Degree students should resume for the completion of the first semester of 2019/2020 academic session on Monday 9th November 2020, and the college hostel shall be equally be opened on the same day. The returning students are expected to comply with all COVID-19 protocols as stated by NCDC such as compulsory wearing of face masks and regular washing of hands.

Students are also to ensure that they put on their identity card while on campus for ease of identification. The college hostel shall be opened on Monday above staff and students are enjoined to cooperate with the authority in its effort to safeguard the college from the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.

FCET Akoka Post UTME Screening New Schedule

This is to inform all prospective candidates who have applied for admission into NCE programmes that the 1st Batch of Post UTME earlier scheduled to take place from 21st – 24th August has been rescheduled as follows:

DATE: Tuesday 28th – Friday, 31st August, 2018.
TIME: 10.00 a.m.
VENUE: Paul Alabi Multi-purpose Hall.

Federal College Of Education (Technical), Akoka notice to NCE and Degree students on the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Matriculation List and problem of non acceptance of admission on the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).

FCET Akoka Notice to NCE & Degree Students

This is to inform all NCE and Degree Students of the following observations and directives from JAMB:

(i) That students who are yet to print their Admission Letter for 2017/2018 admission exercise should note that it is as a result of their non-acceptance of their admission on Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).

(ii) Consequent upon (i) above, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all affected candidates to accept their Admission on Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) with immediate effect and print their Admission Letter accordingly.

(iii) That students who fail to comply with these directives on CAPS will not be able to print their admission letter and their names will not be included in the JAMB Matriculation List.

(iv) That JAMB Matriculation List shall be used for NYSC Mobilization Exercise henceforth.

Consequently, all NCE and Degree Students are hereby advised to check their names on the JAMB Matriculation List on JAMB website to confirm their status.

You are to note the information above and forward any complaint to Admission Office for further processing.

FCET Akoka / UNIBEN Admission Requirements.

The minimum entry requirements for admission into the B.Sc (Ed) and B.A (Ed) Degree Programmes are:

  • GCE ‘O/L SSCE/NECO/NABTEB/NTC/NBC or at least five credits/merit level passes in TC II or equivalent.
  • Credit level pass in five (5) relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics and relevant subjects obtained at not more than two sittings.

The College conducts Aptitude Test and interviews as part of Screening Exercise for all UTME Candidates seeking admission into the College. 

Candidates who did not choose the College initially are also eligible to apply and take part in the screening exercise. 

The Post-UTME Screening is for both UTME and Direct Entry Candidates.

DIRECT ENTRY PROGRAMME:

  • Holders of University Degrees, HND, ND, NCE or equivalent qualifications may proceed from Part II (200 level).
  • Only candidates with credit and merit grade at NCE, ND and HND level in relevant courses from reputable institutions are eligible to apply.

How to Apply for FCET Akoka / UNIBEN Post UTME.

All prospective students who scored 200 marks and above in the last UTME exercise should submit their change of institutions slips, WAEC result and JAMB Score print out to the Admissions Office with payment of the Post UTME Screening fee of Two Thousand Naira (N2, 000.00) Only into Fe

All applicants should note that all payments must be made directly into the College TSA Account upon generation of Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) at College Cash Office.
